CRO Software Updates

We have several exciting updates to share with you:

Introducing the Cro Billing Change Log

This new pane is where you will find a history of how we change Cro Billing over time. We'll be documenting our changes, new features, and bug fixes here so you can stay up to date with how you interact with Cro.

When we release an update to the site this pane will automatically open and show you what's new since your last visit by highlighting the lists of changes that you haven't seen yet.

As time goes on and we accumulate more changes here, you'll be able to scroll down the pane to load the change lists from all previous updates, if you like.

Customer Payment Portal

We've added a web portal where your customers can securely log in and view their invoices, payments, submit payments, and more...

Here's what you should know about the Payment Portal:

  • You can customize how your company logo appears in the Payment Portal from the Settings page in Cro Dispatch.

  • Your customers will only be able to see Posted invoices

  • Your customers each have a Service Account ID. This is a unique identifier which will not change. Your customers will use this ID to connect to you in the Payment Portal. You can find the Service Account ID in the following places:

  • In the "Service Location" row on invoice print outs and emails

  • On the Customer Detail page, after clicking a customer on the Customer List page. It's in the bottom right of the customer info table

  • Billing accounts do not have a Service Account ID

  • When you email an invoice to one of your customers, if you are not connected to QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Desktop, the email will contain a link to the Payment Portal which your customer can follow to pay the invoice themself!

Regional Taxes

The way taxes work has been changed a little bit. There is now a "Region Type" field in the Tax Edit Pane on the Tax Page that you can use to specify what type of regions the tax can be applied to. Options for this field are "City", "State", and "County".

In addition to this new field, you can add individual regions which the tax applies to. For example: If you set "Region Type" to "City", and add a region for "Sequim" then the tax will only apply to invoice lines for customers which are in Sequim.

Please note the following:

  • Taxes which are marked as "Default" will still apply universally to all invoice lines

  • Non-default taxes still need to be enabled per-product in the Product Edit Pane on the Products page
