Surcharge Feature

Our Surcharge feature is LIVE now in CRO Billing! This powerful tool lets you automatically add extra fees to invoices, going beyond standard job charges. Surcharges can be anything from a flat dollar amount (like $25) to a percentage-based fee (like 10% for fuel).

Creating a surcharge is easy. Navigate to the Product page in CRO Billing to find the new Surcharges tab and click the "+" button.

Give your surcharge a name, description (which appears on the invoice), and an internal category. Then, specify the amount or percentage.

The real power comes from setting conditions. You can apply surcharges to all customers, specific customers, or even based on job types and asset types. For example, you could apply a fuel surcharge to all customers in a particular city or to specific job types. Conditions can be set globally or at the customer level, giving you complete control.

We recommend running both your old product-based surcharges and the new percentage-based surcharges for one billing cycle to ensure a smooth transition. This allows you to identify and remove duplicates before fully switching to the new system. This will help prevent double charging and ensure accurate billing.
